The Learning Place is proud to announce that our school online courses are now available for students all over New Zealand.

We offer six individual courses that students can access from anywhere, at any time. If you would like to have a quick look at how our courses work, click here to watch an introduction video.

1. Health and Safety courses:

We offer different levels of health and safety courses for school’s within our online options. We offer the individual courses for 497 and 17593 for $50 each, or combined total of $75 for both Unit Standards. Courses we offer:

 

Level 1 - $50 + GST:

Unit Standard 497 – L1 – C3 – Demonstrate knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety requirements

Level 2 - $50 + GST:

Unit Standard 17593 – L2 – C4 – Demonstrate Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety Regulations

Level 3 - $150 + GST:

Unit Standard 29315 – L3 – C2 – Describe the Roles and Functions of the Health and Safety Representative in a New Zealand workplace

 

 

2. Office Executive - $150 + GST

This course introduces students to the office world. From basic receptionist duties to telephone manners and record management systems, students completing this course will have vast knowledge of the work involved in an office space.

To meet the requirements of this course, students require a 10-day work placement in an office environment, where the employer will sign them off on practical tasks.

  • Unit Standard 122 – L3 – C5 – Provide office reception services
  • Unit Standard 123 – L3 – C5 – Use office information, copying and telecommunications systems
  • Unit Standard 125 – L – C5 – Demonstrate knowledge of record management systems within an organization.

 

 

3. Fine Dining Service - $200 + GST

This course introduces students to the world of hospitality. They will learn about table settings, how to serve food correctly, how to take orders and about different food items. To meet the requirements of this course, students require a 10-day work placement in an restaurant environment, where the employer will sign them off on practical tasks.

  • Unit Standard 26308 – L3 – C20 – Provide restaurant service in a hospitality establishment

 

 

4. Café Service - $150 + GST

During this course, students will learn about food safety practices, food terminology and the different categories of French cuisine, including breads, sauces and salads. To meet the requirements of this course, students require a 10-day work placement in an office environment, where the employer will sign them off on practical tasks.

  • Unit Standard 27940 – L3 – C5 – Provide Café table service in a hospitality establishment
  • Unit Standard 27955 – L3 – C5 – Apply food safety practices in a food related business
  • Unit Standard 18497 – L3 – C8 – Demonstrate knowledge of culinary products and terms
