Food safety skills are essental in a range of areas including restaurants, cafe's, food processing plants and supermarkets. The Learning Place has been delivering Food Safety training for many years and offers a range of options for different levels of food preparation.
Food Safety Basic
Practise food safety methods in a food business under supervision.
Unit Standard 167 - Level 2 - Credits 4
Food Safety Basic is a hands on exploration of the basic principles of food safety in a commercial food business. Learners will gain knowledge about a range of food safety practices including safe storage, personal hygiene, temperature controls and prevention of cross contamination.
The Food Safety Basic course meets the legal requirement for staff training under the Food Act (2014) and prepares learners for work in a commercial food businesses.
